Scenes and character design from my final for Narrative Storytelling. I made a storyboard animatic for my interpretation of a scene from Michael Chabon’s short story, The God of Dark Laughter. I got to present this project twice, which was definitely the highlight of my week. I’m glad it payed off, because even though the film is less than a minute long, it was my most time-consuming final project.
I really want to post the finished film but it uses music from a soundtrack and I’d rather not risk any “copyright violation” charges.

Drew my Orange Dog character in some poses from Eric Goldberg’s excellent book, Character Animation Crash Course!
Our final test for Figure Modeling was to sculpt a full human (or humanoid) figure during class without the aid of a model or reference material, which was actually pretty fun, and our teacher brought us pizza during it. Here’s what I made, a werewolf who needs a name. He’s really big and heavy…but I managed to carry him home. Approx.6 hours work, and while some parts are rough because I was working against time, I’m really happy with the result.
